Composer, percussionist and educator based in Paris, Léo Laurent and develops his artistic approach at the crossroads of jazz, contemporary music, and sound art. Initially trained in psychomotricity, his conception of music is closely linked to bodily experience, environment, and relationship.

His artistic path was first shaped within the field of improvised music, where collective practice enabled him to explore a wide repertoire and to affirm his interest in musical form and language. His jazz studies at the CRR of Paris and the PSPBB led him to cultivate his own approach to improvisation.

An engaged instrumentalist across a variety of aesthetics, he is involved in the progressive rock project MUE and has taken part in several academies and creative programs, including the Orchestre National des Jeunes (2024) and À la source du Raï at the Royaumont Foundation (2025).

During his musicology studies at Paris 8 University, he deepened his practice of composition and developed skills in computer music, with a particular interest in mixed music.

He composed a duo for flute and bass clarinet, performed by Ensemble Cairn (2024), a quatuor with electronics, performed by Ensemble Multilatérale (2025).

Open to interdisciplinary creative projects, he contributed to the musical creation of the theatre piece Blanche, written by La Compagnie Divergente.

Alongside his creative work, Léo Laurent teaches in conservatories. He connects his artistic and pedagogical practices through the development of interdisciplinary projects.

Some composers create in silence, for lack of support. We want to give them a free space to express themselves Because our initiative is not just an artistic event - it's a social, political and deeply human act.
