Aleksandra Słyż is a Polish composer, sound engineer and sound artist graduated from the University of A. Mickiewicz in Poznań, the Poznań Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Throughout her recent live performances, Słyż has been exploring connections between acoustic instruments and modular synthesizers, creating rich and diverse drone structures which highlight the power of microtonality’s resonances and tensions. Interactive sonification systems are another large part of her artistic practice. Between 2017 and 2022 Słyż conducted artistic research, in which she investigated movement sonification techniques and different types of interaction. Her works have been presented at the most prestigious European music festivals and in various major venues including: Århus Domkirke, Aarhus Festival; Ancienne Belgique; MONOM, CTM Festival; Royal Concertgebouw, Fiber Festival; Fylkingen; Kunsthalle Helsinki; Kyiv Music Fest; Meet Factory; NODE Festival; Dom im Berg, ORF musikprotokoll; Open Source Art Festival; Rewire Festival; Sanatorium of Sound; Unsound and Warsaw Autumn.
