The legendary contemporary music ensemble, l'Itinéraire, joins the first edition of the NIMFA 2025 festival with a chamber music concert for oboe and string trio. This bold program highlights a range of contemporary works, exploring gestures, movements, and sonic colors with exceptional instrumental virtuosity.
The concert begins with Limun by Clara Iannotta, a fascinating piece for violin and viola that challenges the boundaries of sound and silence, immersing the listener in a space where every vibration becomes a subtle exploration of textures. Next, Valvaja by Helena Tulve, a piece for oboe, creates a rich sonic atmosphere, playing with the nuances and breath of the wood, capturing the essence of the instrument in its purest form.

L'Itinéraire is one of Europe's leading contemporary music ensembles. Since its founding in 1973, it has played a key role in the emergence of spectral music, focused on listening to sound and represented by composers such as Gérard Grisey, Michael Lévinas, Tristan Murail, and Hugues Dufourt.
Currently led by Lucia Peralta, L'Itinéraire features top-level soloists whose diverse talents blend generations and practices to push the boundaries of sound: acoustic saturation, electrification, unexplored realms of electronics, as well as improvisation, outdoor concerts, and societal experiments.
