Elsa Biston is a composer and musician. She creates projects with musicians, or with electronic and concrete devices - she has developed her "vibrating objects" device, an ensemble of objects and instruments set in vibration by transducers, for which she created the installation/performance prendre corps, created at the Vanves theatre, exhibited at the dĂ©tours de Babel festival, at the Dijon archaeological museum; a solo, slow times low freqs performed at Musique Action in Vandoeuvre les Nancy, at Why Note in Dijon, soon at the GMEA in Albi and at the festival pour les oiseaux in Le Havre. She has recently composed an installative piece, âLöchermusikâ, for moving listeners and spatialised musicians, for the Zafraan ensemble in Berlin; âGlissantesâ, a one-hour concert for the percussion trio Line upon Line in Austin, Texas (with support from the FACE foundation for new music); âAttentifs ensembleâ , for HANATSUMiroir, an ensemble from Strasbourg - a collective listening experience, premiered at La Pop in April 23, with support for the writing of original music from the French Ministry of Culture; and the music for the play l'Ă©nigme Rosemary Brown, directed by Maya Boquet, produced by La Pop, premiered at Les Subsistances in April 2023 and then at the studio-thĂ©Ăątre in Vitry. She is designing a new sound installation, to be premiered at the Donaueschingen Festival 2024. in her music, she seeks forms of subtle attention to sound phenomena and to the relationships that develop during a concert. In addition, she is a recording producer for the recordings of classical and contemporary music for french classical music radio, France musique. The questions around the support, the media and the sound matter constitute the heart of her approach.
