 General Information
The name "Malargüe" is a derivation of words in the original Mapuche language "malal" (wall, a kind of corral where they ran animals) and "hue" (place).
Malargüe, with 21000 inhabitants, provides abundant adventure, fun and nature experiences in this astonishing place of Mendoza. The city is now known for its clean air and beautiful surroundings.  In Malargüe, you will find the infinite horizon, the sensation of immensity, the sky and the foothills of the Andes at 1400 m a.s.l.
The famous National Route 40 transects Argentina for 4,874 km from the northern border with Bolivia at La Quiaca to the southern tip of mainland Argentina at Cabo Virgenes in Santa Cruz province. In Malargüe, this route becomes a street called Avenida San Martin that crosses the city, also from north to the south.
